As counsellors, we may not always say it, but there are certain areas of the helping field that draw us in more deeply. For me, women’s health, (in)fertility, IVF, and the emotional journey towards and through pregnancy are among those areas.
I am particularly committed to walking alongside women and couples when this journey becomes too overwhelming to carry alone. Fertility struggles can be deeply isolating, with emotions shifting between hope and optimism, anticipation and uncertainty, disappointment and grief - sometimes all within a very short space of time.
There is so much emotional complexity that can accompany this experience, including the waiting, the decisions, the uncertainty and the sense that life may begin to revolve around appointments, outcomes and the next step.
If you need to talk about what you are going through, or perhaps simply need a safe place to put it all down for a while, I really hope you will stay.
I offer a warm, confidential space to process the emotional impact of fertility challenges and reproductive health experiences. This is not medical advice or clinical treatment, but rather a complementary form of emotional support for a journey that can be as much about the heart as it is about the body.
Together, we can make space for grief and loss, anxiety and uncertainty, relationship strain, shifts in identity, and the many complex emotions that can arise when life does not unfold in the way you had hoped or expected.
Fertility challenges do not happen in isolation. They can affect relationships, communication, intimacy, and the way two people are able to show up for one another.Couples counselling in this context is not about fixing what is broken. It is about creating a space where both partners can feel heard and supported, where difficult conversations can happen safely, and where the relationship itself is cared for alongside everything else you are carrying.
If you are on this journey and looking for someone who understands both the clinical landscape and the emotional terrain, I would be honoured to walk alongside you.
